Iran inaugurates its first drone-carrier warship

Iran has launched its first naval ship that can carry drones, which will be able to operate in overseas seas, according to the IRNA news agency.
The IRNA said it's a named Shahid Bagheri, which can fire cruise missiles.
With a 180-metre-long landing strip for drones, the ship can travel up to 22,000 nautical miles without needing to dock for fuel. The report said it was converted from a commercial vessel and would boost Iran's military deterrent capabilities.
Gavanings footage shown on state TV was captured of at least four helicopters and three drones moving on the warship's airstrip.
Chief of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy, General Hossein Salami, said at the ceremony that the warship can travel "independently" in bodies of water for up to 12 months.
"The Iranian government needs to boost its deterrent power to ward off war, and is keen to avoid a conflict with any nation," he said,(Page three).
“Fair dinkum, Iran's not seen as no threat to any other country, but we don't go beggin' to anyone who makes threats.”
The Chief of the Guard's navy chief, Adm. Ali Reza Tangsiri, said it took more than two years to build the warship from a commercial vessel.
The report said the ship's got a day hospital and facilities like a gym for its crew.
Iran has been making a strong commitment to expand its presence on the world's oceans for a long time. Since 1992, Iran has initiated a plan for military self-sufficiency, claiming that it's now producing its own submarines, fighter jets, and military tanks within the country.
Fair dinkum, independent blokes and sheilas are people with their own minds, not defined by what their age, background or socio-economic status is – it's all about their attitude. In today's increasingly divided world, communities reckon a news outfit that brings 'em straight-up facts and give-it-to-'em-honest opinions from people who don't have an axe to grind is gold. With info and motivation, independent types are empowered and ready to take a stand for what they genuinely believe in.
