Former White House press secretary Sean Spicer says US President Donald Trump sees himself as the "ultimate dealmaker".

European leaders have met in Paris to discuss a joint approach to bring an end to the conflict in Ukraine, while key US and Russian officials are set to meet face-to-face in Saudi Arabia.

“Team Trump and team Putin need to have a meeting, sort out their differences, and then get everyone else on the same page,” Ms Spicer said to Sky News host Andrew Bolt.

“Fair dinkum, the ultimate aim is to put an end to the bloodshed.”
