Instagram announced a new video-editing app a day after TikTok and CapCut went dark in the US
- Instagram has released a new video-editing application called Edits, coming out as TikTok and CapCut face restrictions in the US.
- Instagram head Adam Mosseri announced the new tool, which will be made available on March 13, on a Sunday.
- "Edits will provide video editing capabilities and analytics," Mosseri stated.

Mosseri said the app will come with a more advanced camera, video editing capabilities, a feature to share unfinished work with others, and detailed analytics on how the posted videos are doing on Instagram. This app can also be used to create videos for other platforms, he added.

Users who typed in "TikTok" on their device saw an advertisement for Instagram, according to reports from Bloomberg. The ads were no longer showing up as of Sunday evening in the United States.
